Yellow Saraca or Saraca thaipingensis (scientific name: Saraca thaipingensis) is a non-cold-tolerant evergreen tall treein the family Fabaceae, native to the Malay Peninsula and Thailand. It is a close relative of Ashoka tree (scientific name:Saraca indica) . From January to April, small yellow flowers (actually, sepals) are clustered in cone-shaped inflorescences that extend from the branches and bloom like a ball. New pale purple leaves hang long on the tips of branches.
